Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
TC-01 Tone Calculator ("the App") is published by Kaini Instruments Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
The App is designed to run entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal information (name, email, address)
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
- Advertising identifiers
- Cookies or session tokens
- Crash reports or diagnostics
All projects, recordings, custom instruments, and settings you create are stored locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB storage. None of this data leaves your device.
3. Microphone Access
The App may request access to your device's microphone for the Voice Recording feature, which detects pitch from hummed or sung melodies. Microphone audio is:
- Processed entirely on your device
- Never transmitted to any server
- Stored temporarily in local IndexedDB with a 24-hour expiry, then automatically deleted
You can deny microphone access at any time through your browser or device settings without affecting other features of the App.
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Google Fonts
The App and this website load typefaces from Google Fonts. On first load, your browser connects to Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which may expose your IP address to Google. After initial loading, fonts are cached locally for offline use. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
4.2 Lemon Squeezy (Pro License Purchases)
If you choose to purchase a Pro license, you will be directed to Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor and merchant of record. During the purchase process, Lemon Squeezy collects:
- Name and email address
- Payment information (credit card or other payment method)
- Billing address
This data is collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy, not by us. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for details.
4.3 License Activation
When you activate a Pro license key within the App, the App sends only your license key to Lemon Squeezy's License API to verify and activate it. No other personal data is sent from the App during this process. The activation creates a device instance record on Lemon Squeezy's servers to track activation count against your licence limit.
5. Data Storage and Security
All App data is stored locally on your device using IndexedDB. We have no access to this data. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the App, your locally stored projects and settings will be permanently deleted.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected, no age verification is required.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
